WHAT IS THIS?

We’re two Chinese-Texan sisters that enjoy dabbling in writing, photography, and travel. This is our corner of the internet to chronicle our travels past, present, and future and share them with our friends and family who are scattered throughout (Dad is an engineer that does projects around Asia, Africa and Middle East- Mom is a modern housewife that splits her time between China, Texas, and her own travels).

WHAT DOES MOON RIO MEAN?

We are where we are in life because our parents decided to take a leap of faith and move to America from their homes in China. Our father once said that this huge transition was bolstered by a line in Henry Mancini’s “Moon River”, in which the singer croons “two drifters…off to see the world, there’s such a lot of world to see.” We think this is a great reminder that there is indeed so much world to see, and it takes an adventurous spirit to try to experience it all! Hence, the name “Moon Rio”.
